Terms of work
These terms are between you and Seam Room Ltd. (חדר התפר בע״מ), company number 516428372, 22 Florentin Street, Florentin, Tel Aviv–Yafo, 6608323. They cover alterations and the small amount of simple made-to-measure described on this site. They are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. The competent courts are the courts of Tel Aviv–Yafo.
Nothing here removes a right you have under the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981, or any other rule that cannot be waived. If a sentence in these terms clashes with a right of that kind, the right stands and the sentence gives way.
When there is a contract
The prices on the website are the ordinary counter prices for October 2026, for ordinary cloth, including VAT at 18%. They are not, by themselves, a contract. A WhatsApp message, an email, or a phone call is a request. The job is agreed when we confirm it: at the counter, on the paper ticket, or in a reply that names the day and the price. We do not send that confirmation on Saturday. A message that arrives on Saturday, or on Friday after 13:00, waits until Sunday. Until we have confirmed, do not treat the job as booked.
The price on the ticket is the price. If we open a lining, find rot, or see that a hem has no allowance, we stop and call the number on the ticket before we continue. We do not finish the work and then invent a higher figure. If you do not agree the new figure, we reassemble the garment as far as we honestly can and return it. A charge for work already done, if any, will be the one we named before we did it.
Drop-off of ordinary repairs is 9:00 to 12:00, Sunday to Friday, without an appointment. Fittings are by appointment only, Sunday to Thursday, 13:00 to 17:00. We do not accept a new garment for work after 12:00. Collection is from 15:00 Sunday to Thursday, or on Friday morning when the ticket says the work is ready. The room is closed on Saturday.
VAT
Every price we publish and every price we write on a ticket includes VAT at 18%, the rate in force through 2026. The VAT is not added again at the till. On a tax invoice the split is the inclusive price divided by 1.18. That quotient is the amount before VAT. The difference is the VAT. Subtracting 18% from the inclusive price is the wrong sum, and we will not put that wrong sum on an invoice. Ask for the invoice (חשבונית מס) when you pay, or write on the ticket if it must be in a company name. The invoice carries company number 516428372. You pay when you collect, in cash or by card, unless we have agreed a transfer for an invoice sent ahead. For made-to-measure, 40% is paid when we cut and the rest on collection. The 40% is a payment for cloth that can no longer be sold by the metre, not a storage deposit.
Existing damage
Before the garment goes on the table we note damage that is already there, on your copy of the ticket and on the copy that stays in the room. That includes holes, stains, thin cloth, a lining that is already shedding, and a zip that is failing somewhere you did not ask us to touch. If you disagree with the note, say so before you leave. The note is the record of the condition in which we received the cloth.
We are not responsible for that existing damage, or for cloth that fails because it was already weak, dry, or rotten. If our work puts a new fault in cloth that was sound, we will repair the fault if it can be repaired, or refund the price of the job. Where Israeli law requires more than that, the law is what we follow, not a hope that a refund will always be enough. We do not accept liability for a ceremony, a journey, or a set of photographs missed because a garment arrived late when it was brought to us inside the period we had already said was too short. If we miss a ready day that we ourselves wrote on the ticket, we will refund the job if you no longer want it, and we will still finish it if you do.
A hem sewn to a length you approved, in the shoes you brought, is the hem you ordered. If you change your mind and cloth remains in the seam, we can usually reopen it, and we may charge the hem again. If you asked for a measured cut with no fitting, and we cut that measure, the offcut is gone. Cloth we refused on the cloth page, including leather, does not become our problem because it was left in the room by mistake. We will ask you to take it back.
Garments not collected after 60 days
A finished garment waits sixty days from the ready date written on the ticket. In that time we will message the phone number on the ticket to say it is ready, and we will message again before the sixty days end if it is still here. After those sixty days we may give the garment away or dispose of it. We are not a cloakroom, and we do not run a paid store. We are not liable for the garment after that disposal. Money already paid for cloth cut for a made-to-measure order is not refunded as if it had been a deposit on a locker: the cloth was cut for you and cannot go back on the bolt.
If the phone number on the ticket is wrong, the messages will not reach you, and the sixty days still run from the ready date. Check the number before you leave the room. Leaving a wedding dress “until the season” is not an arrangement we accept. Say so if you need a longer hold, before the ready date, and we will tell you whether we can. If we do not agree a longer hold in writing, the sixty days stand.
Made-to-measure, in short
We cut only the simple garments described on the measure page. We do not cut haute couture, wedding gowns, or copies of another maker’s model. Two fittings are included in the stated prices. A missed fitting moves the date. Your cloth has to be cloth we have agreed to touch. If it is flawed, we stop and call you before we cut through the flaw.
Law and courts
These terms, and any job done under them, are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, including the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981, and the Value Added Tax Law as they apply to a small workshop. Disputes are brought in the competent courts of Tel Aviv–Yafo. You may also use any consumer channel the law gives you. How we handle personal information is a separate notice, on the privacy page, under the Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, including Amendment 13 in force from 14 August 2025.
